More Photo Tools For You
Great news today for all the photographers out there. No matter your skill level in photography. Google’s Photo editing software is now FREE.
If you want to try out the many awesome features it has just click here for the NIK software download. Keep in mind that these are plugins and you must have a commonly used photo editing software already such as Adobe Lightroom, or Photoshop. The plugins are accessed as filters. Watch the video below in order to better understand if you can use it properly.
While Google has axed its other photo editing software Picasso, we are not sure how much longer NIK will stay around. If you purchased NIK in 2016 you will be getting a full refund that will automatically be refunded to your card that you purchased it with. Hopefully that card is not expired right now, if so just contact Google Customer service here.
Suggested Workflow of the NIK collection
According to Google’s Help Center here is how they suggest that we use the NIK collection Software Plugins.
What is the recommended workflow when using the Nik Collection?
The recommended workflow for the Nik Collection is as follows:
1. If desired, apply Raw Presharpener using Sharpener Pro 3.
2. Apply noise reduction using Dfine 2.
3. Control color and light using Viveza 2.
4. Apply filter enhancements using Color Efex Pro 4.
5. Convert to black and white using Silver Efex Pro 2.
6. Apply output sharpening using Sharpener Pro 3.
Note: Analog Efex Pro 2 can be utilized at any point after Dfine 2. HDR Efex Pro 2 is best used immediately after Dfine 2.
